The Dragonflier Kids book series and companion curriculum units are designed to develop social-emotional skills and provide challenging learning tasks for young gifted learners in grades K-2.

 

Each book in the series focuses on a social-emotional characteristic or issue common to gifted learners. The friends work through issues such as perfectionism, fear of failure, tolerance for differences, anxiety, risk avoidance, fitting in, and building resilience. 

 

Companion units are developmentally appropriate, interdisciplinary, integrate creative and critical thinking skill instruction and application, and include suggestions for further investigations. Units are aligned to the Common Core State Standards.

 

The book series can be used in home and school settings. The companion units include suggestions for use with students at home, in general education classrooms and in gifted classrooms.
